On January 2, the first working day of 2025, Samsung Electro-Mechanics CEO Chang Duckhyun sent a New Year’s message to all employees via email.
“Be professional!” urged CEO Chang, encouraging all employees to become “professionals (pros)”. He defined a professional as “someone who takes responsibility for their work and has the attitude to create the best results”. Chang went on to say, “Although the global economic situation is expected to be tough, with low growth becoming the new normal in the new economy, we must all become professionals full of passion and energy, contribute to the survival and growth of Samsung Electro-Mechanics, and create a top-tier components company that is resilient to economic downturns with our superior technology.”
“Despite the fact that the business environment in 2025 will present significant challenges, including concerns about prolonged low growth and an intensifying global competitive environment, there are also opportunities to be explored, such as the expanding demand for high-value-added markets, including AI and the automotive sector,” said Chang. “To overcome the crisis, we need to implement several strategic initiatives, such as strengthening technology-centric management, △ensuring cost and manufacturing competitiveness, △shifting to high-margin business structures such as automotive and servers, and △focusing on expanding new businesses to grow above the market growth rate.”
He concluded by saying, “Like a blue snake, we must be _ and adept in dealing with our surroundings with foresight and thorough preparation,” and emphasized, “Let’s harness the passion and energy of our employees to make 2025 a year of significant progress.”
