As an employee working for the Component Division at Samsung Electro-Mechanics, Pro Kim Hansun is not only a developer at Samsung Electro-Mechanics in charge of developing MLCC, an advanced product, but also is a super mom preparing for school supplies for her 10-year-old daughter, a G3 elementary school student, from very early in the morning. As it was a nice day for an outing and Pro Kim Hansun wished to do something special with her daughter, she participated in her company's workplace event. "Wow! Mommy, is this where you work? You always told me to tidy up my desk, but your desk is so messy!”
On April 22, Samsung Electro-Mechanics held an event at its Suwon site where it invited its employees for the weekend. The event was attended by 20 households of employees with elementary school-aged children (80 persons) including CEO Chang Duckhyun.
This event was planned as a way for the employees to make good memories for their children by touring their workplaces and participating in programs together with their families. Samsung Electro-Mechanics is planning to hold a total of 13 family invitation events at each of its domestic business sites, including 5 events to be held at its Suwon site. The participants will be selected by first-come first-served applications and lots, etc.
On that day, Samsung Electro-Mechanics filled the event with programs where the employees and their families can show thankfulness to each other in celebration of the shortly coming Family Month. The children had an opportunity to visit their parents’ workplaces and participate in a variety of programs such as making balloon flowers.
During the event, CEO Chang Duckhyun had a surprise appearance to spend time with the employees’ families by offering gifts to the invitees, having talks, and taking photographs with the children.
During his meeting with the employees' families, CEO Chang Duckhyun remarked that, "Our employees have been able to work hard, and our company has been able to grow thanks to the families who joined us at this event. I hope that the event could offer enjoyable times for our employees with their families.” For his final remark, he said, "As of its 50th anniversary, Samsung Electro-Mechanics has been able to achieve today’s performance together with the dedication of the employees and the efforts of their families," commenting that, "I ask for your support so that the company can further grow and become sustainable."
Moreover, Samsung Electro-Mechanics is also planning to hold an event themed "Together with Family” where about 9,300 persons of its employees and their family members will be invited to three business sites including Suwon, Sejong and Busan for celebrating the upcoming Children's Day on May 5.
In the meantime, Samsung Electro-Mechanics has been operating a number of systems as a part of its family-friendly management.
